Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Andrea Leadsom, launched the UK Food Innovation Network (FIN) on 24th October 2016. The launch event was held at the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus, York with around 200 Agri-Food sector innovators and businesses in attendance.

The FIN's primary objective is to tackle the issues which are currently impeding innovation, productivity and growth in UK Agri-Food & Drink businesses.
The FIN will join-up and improve access to the right information, research, skills, expertise and different funding mechanisms, By doing this, the FIN will help the sector to increase its competitiveness and profitability, thereby contributing to the government’s long term plan for food and farming – i.e. to make the UK one of the world’s leading food nations.
"The Food Innovation Network will help make the sector as forward-looking as possible and push the boundaries of British food production."
